On February 23rd, 2022, the International Education and Cooperation Institute (IEC)- HCMC University of Transport organized the graduation ceremony, awarding the International Bachelor’s and Master’s Joint Degree and the opening ceremony of Joint Training Program of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The graduation ceremony of the international Bachelor’s and Master’s joint programs in 2022.
In the ceremony, there was the participation of the School Board, the representatives from Korea’s Tongmyong University, partner companies/ businesses, research institutes, press agencies, parents, students from the international joint-training program, and particularly the graduates from the international Bachelor’s and Master’s joint program in 2022.
Delivering a graduation speech in the ceremony, Dr. Le Van Vang- Vice Rector of HCMC University of Transport highlighted: “Graduating with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree is always a great achievement. And this achievement becomes more special since you have gone through numerous challenges including those that went beyond your control.
However, you have overcome all these difficulties with determination, adaptability, improvisation as well as creativity. You always stayed focused and endeavored to move forward, whereas the whole world came to a standstill due to Covid- 19 pandemic. Therefore, you completely deserve the outstanding attainment that you achieve today… Congratulations!”

At the graduation ceremony, HCMC University of Transport awarded the international Bachelor’s Joint Degree for fresh graduates class of 2017 majoring in Port Management and Logistics – a joint training program conducted by HCMC University of Transport and Korea Tomyoung University and awarded the Master’s Degree for candidates specializing in Logistics and International Transport offered by HCMC University of Transport and Solent University (UK).

In 2021, the International Education and Cooperation Institute (IEC) – HCMC University of Transport gave a scholarship of nearly 1 billion VND for fresh undergraduates and postgraduates. During the graduation ceremony, the school honored the excellent individuals who got entrance scholarships.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ho Thi Thu Hoa, the academic consultant in Logistics at International Education and Cooperation Institute (IEC) gave scholarships to students from the international joint program.

A vital event in the ceremony was the Opening Ceremony of the Joint Training Program in Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is the first AI International Joint degree program in Vietnam conducted by HCMC University of Transport and Korea’s Tongmyong University. Attending this training program, students will have various opportunities to achieve an advanced education that uses Korea’s top-tier IT infrastructure which is the best in the world, namely, supercomputers, simulators, and high-speed networks.
The Artificial Intelligence College was separated from the Engineering College by Tongmyong University in 2020 and promoted as an independent university. The AI training system includes 5 majors: Artificial Intelligence, Game Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Convergence, and Information Security.
The AI International Bachelor’s Joint Program is designed as an integrated curriculum focusing on specialized subjects in AI.
“We hope to train future generations of leading IC system and software experts. In order to encourage new students majoring in Artificial Intelligence, Korea Tongmyong University decides to offer scholarships with a total value of 2 billion VND”, shared Mr. Kweon, Joong – Rak – Head of International Exchange Department of Korea Tongmyong University at the ceremony.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is considered as the core of the 4th industrial revolution, consisting of AI, SW technology and information technology ICT. This is a major field that leads the era of information and communications in the 21st century, namely, AI, 5G, next-generation ICT và SW technology.
The Artificial Intelligence industry is being widely applied in most fields: from healthcare, education to business, manufacturing, etc. In terms of the transportation industry, Artificial Intelligence (AI) plays a crucial role in its development. Graduates from this program can research and apply Artificial Intelligence to solve problems such as: improving the efficiency of traffic management; optimization of passenger and freight transport; automation to cut logistics costs, improve competitiveness; obey traffic laws; building intelligent traffic systems, public transport, traffic safety, etc.
