About the scholarships:
The International Education and Cooperation Institute of Ho Chi Minh University of Transport collaborating with Tongmyong University is pleased to offer a number of competitive scholarships for new students. Below you will find information about the scholarships and how to apply.
Who is eligible to apply:
Students who are going to study in Korea in September 2024 have been studying Port and Logistics Management – Tongmyong University.
How much the scholarships are:
One 100% scholarship and one 50% one for the first semester are offered to selected students. The scholarship is granted as a reduction of the tuition fee for the first semester and cannot be used as payment towards any deposit required for your programme.
Note: The special scholarships in this announcement can be combined with the IELTS scholarship and in all cases the highest scholarship a student can receive is 100% or 50% of the tuition fee for the first semester studying in Korea.
What you need to apply:
Students who apply for these scholarships have to:
- Meet both entrance requirements: IELTS 5.5 above and GPA over 2.0.
- Prepare your documents:
2.1. A first- year transcript at IEC with GPA over 2.0;
2.2. An IELTS 5.5 or above;
2.3. A form of applying for this scholarship (Complete the online application form at: https://forms.gle/VckdcWMaiJF5tq2u9)
2.4. A MP4 file (maximum 5 minutes) including your responses to the following questions:
- Tell us about yourself. (minimum 1 minute)
- Tell us about an experience that has impacted and changed how you see the world. (minimum 1 minute)
- Many people refer Gen Z as a “snowflake” generation. What are the reasons behind this? To what extent do you agree or disagree? (minimum 1 minute)
What the applying process is:
Our process includes two rounds:
Round 1: Applications Review
Students are able to send an email to the International Education and Cooperation Institute via the address: studentsupport@iec.ut.edu.vn with the title: [IECPL Scholarship 2024]- Full name – Student’s ID

Note:
- Your documents have to be formatted in PDF files in order.
- Your video is made with a clean and tidy background, smart clothes, quiet environment and a clear voice, which lasts a maximum of 5 minutes.
Round 2: Interview
- 10 students with the highest scores in Round 1 will be invited to a meeting with our interview panel.
- Duration: 30 minutes per student
- Interview: in person in Room D605.
Which criterias help you successfully apply for these scholarships:
- Our process will be carried out transparently, competitively and publicly. Students do not have to pay any fees during their application.
- Our panel assesses students by standards: study results, preparation, intelligence, language ability and confidence.
- The Round 1 result is based on the first- year GPA (40%), IELTS score (30%) and video (30%).
- The Round 2 result is based on Content of answer (40%), Non-verbal (30%) and Comprehensibility, fluency and speech (30%).
- The final result is based on the total GPA in 2 years (40%), interview (40%), IELTS score (30%).
Based on this result, the IEC Institute will complete the application procedure for Tongmyong University to grant scholarships to students. The final scholarship award decision is issued by Tongmyong University and it is based on the number of students enrolled, Tongmyong’s scholarship policy framework and the selection results made by the IEC institute. The number of scholarships will be the same as the following semesters (selected by Tongmyong University).
